If you're interested in becoming a data analyst, I suggest you search on Google or any other search engine using the keywords "data analyst job." You'll find roughly 848,000,000 results in just 0.56 seconds. This shows that there are still plenty of opportunities in the tech industry for those interested in this field.

I am not here to dictate what technical and soft skills you must possess or to specify the number of years of experience that you should have. The required skills and expertise list is never-ending and varies depending on your journey. In my experience, everyone has a unique set of skills and passions.

Before starting your application journey, please answer these three questions to prepare yourself for the position.

1. Why do you want to become a data analyst or business analyst?

Your answer to this question can vary depending on your focus. You can start by sharing your passion and conclude with a technical explanation. For instance, you may want to work with a top tech company like FANG or be interested in seeing people with a good income. You may also find the position challenging, aim to improve company profits, have a passion for data, or love working with it. The possibilities are endless, so feel free to express whatever you feel most excited about.

2. Have you ever done your SWOT analysis for yourself?

"What is SWOT Analysis?" is a question that must be answered before starting any research. However, even if you are already familiar with it, you can always redo it multiple times. SWOT Analysis is a valuable tool for career development and self-management. It provides positive and negative results, but don't feel disheartened when you see negative feedback. Instead, use it to improve yourself because your passion is more significant than negative feedback.

3. What is your intention for your career growth in this field?

It's essential to consider your intention before taking action. Are you feeling more positive or negative at the moment? If you're constantly drained, try to find ways to regain your energy. If you struggle with procrastination, consider setting a to-do list for yourself. On the other hand, if you already have a habit of practicing gratitude daily, that's a good sign that you're ready to take the next step.

Conclusion

"If you have some answers to the problem, I suggest you create a mind map of your solutions. This will help you see the connections between your ideas or even draw them out. However, if you are still struggling to come up with a solution, you can brainstorm with your friends and family. Additionally, I recommend using these three technical questions to guide your thinking. I hope this advice is helpful! It is still possible if you prepare.
